"Dark Ocean" is based on a piece by composer Christopher McAteer. The collaborative process began in November 2016 with a long evening at a piano, followed by a morning in the mountains overlooking Carlingford Lough.
lyrics
Two of us,
with the stars, the moon,
the dark ocean
We go rowing all alone
in familiar midnight chrome
Rippling,
the sea’s skin rolls and folds
I look into the eyes of you; black ice
as we go rowing all alone
in familiar midnight chrome
and down we go
Underneath,
where the little creatures breathe
I feel you in my sleep;
in my sleep, you breathe
Two of us,
with the stars, the moon,
the dark ocean
But in the morning,
I am one.
